Giving Nigerian languages the professional audio presence they deserve.
SoundBound Media is a Kaduna-based audio company. We built our voice catalog around local Nigerian narrators so that authors, publishers, brands and educators can reach audiences in the languages they speak at home.
SoundBound Media was founded in 2022 by Dikko Yusuf with a simple aim: to produce high-quality audio. In 2023 he began a PhD researching African literary audiobooks, and he noticed a gap. Too many African audiobooks are produced with narrators who do not match the text, a mismatch between voice and story.
Part of the problem is access. Producers in the US, the UK and Europe often have no easy way to reach local talent. SoundBound Media closes that gap. If you have a novel by a Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo author, we can record it here in Nigeria, with an authentic local voice, to professional quality, and deliver it ready to meet ACX standards for release on Audible.
Today we are building our narrator catalog, producing samples and sourcing local texts to show what we can do with a full audiobook.
Before audiobooks, Dikko produced podcasts, recording and post-producing each one himself. That work built the editorial eye we bring to every narration.

Founder and Managing Director
Dikko runs SoundBound Media, secures funding and finds new projects. He builds collaborations with authors and people across the creative industries, sources books that suit our narrators, and sits in recording sessions to make sure every narration flows naturally and meets audiobook standards. His earlier work producing podcasts gave him a deep feel for the literary landscape.
Dikko is also a PhD student and researcher studying African literary audiobooks. His paper on reading African literary audiobooks, their origins and approaches, has been accepted by the academic journal Logos.
Head of Operations
Ahmad keeps SoundBound Media running day to day. He manages administration and filing, handles banking and the financial side of the business, and looks after logistics. He also oversees the technical side of our recordings, managing audio files so they meet distribution requirements such as ACX compliance.
Sound Engineer, Ovizta Studio (Independent Partner)
Francis works independently from his own studio, Ovizta Studio, and records for SoundBound Media as a trusted partner. He handles recording, editing and mastering, the highly technical side of audio production, making sure every title sounds clean, polished and ready to publish.
